Norwich Union have lost my car's service history. Can I claim compensation and who should I contact?

Norwich Union settled a motor insurance claim for me, but in the process lost my car's complete service history. After many telephone calls over a period of months, and being constantly told the matter was being looked into, they finally admitted the loss, and also that the situation was unacceptable, being only able to supply me with photo-copies of the originals. Their claims department suggested I should take the matter further, and said a member of their customer relations team would contact me. To date, nearly 2 months later, I have heard nothing from them. The service history was extensive, and related to an old vehicle with an exceptionally low mileage, so I consider it extremely important to the value of the vehicle. Am I right to ask for compensation for the loss, and also written acknowledgement of their incompetence!|||Insurance companies in the U.K. are regulated by the Financial Ombudsman Bureau.

Write a formal complaint about N.U. to the Bureau - they will act on your behalf.|||make an official complaint.

And ask for compensation.|||You certainly are, if you made a mistake they wouldnt think twice about stinging you. Speak to trading standards about this and tell NU you have done so, they will change their attitude then! Good luck

My car was taken by a company called "Whitehouse Recover" from the M4 and there are no contact details?

I was in hospital and have just got home, all it says is your car has been recovered by "Whitehouse Recover"

How can I find the telephone number?|||As you were somewhere on the M4 between London %26amp; Pont Abraham services,( South Wales) I cannot see why an Essex based recovery firm would recover your vehicle. Your best bet would be for you to contact the motorway police headquarters for the stretch of road you were on, and ask for a list of their recovery teams, or, if your car was involved in an accident, your insurance company should be able to help you.|||Phone your local police station.|||I work at a auto auction In NY and it sounds like your car was an obvious repo. They don't usually list their numbers in the yellow pages because they deal directly with the banks. Since it wasn't a voluntary repo and you weren't there to give them the keys you should probably contact the bank that you financed through. I am assuming by seeing Recover and you saying your car was taken this is the situation. |||I would recommend phoning your local police station or calling your operator/phone directory.|||I've just looked on the net and there is no mention of them..suggest you contact police...................|||If you got behind with the payments, contact your loan company. Could have been repossessed.|||try 118 118

|||Clearly your car was recovered while you were in hospital following an accident, so I don't know why people are assuming it was reposessed.

Phone your local police (NOT 999) and they will either be able to tell you or put you on to the police who dealt with it. They will know.

LATER ADD%26gt; There is a Whitehouse Recovery in Brentwood, if that seems to fit with where you were. Here's the contact details: http://www.iessex.co.uk/profile/105096/B鈥?/a>

Hope you're better.|||http://www.iessex.co.uk/profile/105096/B鈥?/a>|||
