Does this mean I have to write an argumentative essay?

Your purpose is to write an essay, to be read by a classroom instructor, in which you analyze the impact of a particular technological advance on modern society.

Select one of the following technological innovations: the telephone, the computer, the automobile; the television, the tractor; the skyscraper; or the nuclear power plant.

Discuss the advantages and/or disadvantages of that technology for individuals and society.

Can I write about nuclear power plants and explain that without it, we wouldn't have cars, telephones, tractors, or computers or is it asking to just explain which of these i think is most important but i cant include telephone, cars, tractors, or computers?

ALSO HOW SHOULD I START IT OFF BECAUSE ITS SUPPOSE TO BE ON AP college level..

iM IN HIGH SCHOOL

Also when writing an argumentative essay, can i write in thrid person or no?|||yeah, pretty much

you're just arguing what impact one of the technological innovations have

you should definitely write this in third person unless your teacher told you otherwise :)

also, if that's true about nuclear power plants, you could say that, but i think you're supposed to focus on just one of them

so if you wanted to include that statement, i wouldn't make it your thesis but one of the main points

like your thesis would be how it allowed other technologies to make it to the market faster or something like that AND like how it cut down on pollution blablabla but also probs should inclue radiation

but like i said, you should just focus on one of the technologies, like cars, and say how that impacts/has impacted modern society

you don't necessarily have to pick which one you think is most important, but just one from the list

i would first write an outline and then start your essay

then youll have a better idea of how to organize it and what to put for your intro

good luck :)

also ask your teacher to look at what you have if you want more feedback :)
