I took my friends car and swirved to avoid hitting a deer and i hit a telephone pole. i dont have a license.?

i took my best friends car when he was asleep at a party. i went to go get some food from burger king. when i got there it was closed so i turned around to head back to th party. i was on a road that was uphill but a left turn and a deer was on my left. as i was passing the deer it started to run in front of the car and i drifted to avoid it but i continued Driving straight when the road turned. i drove into the sidewalk and a no parking sign which popped the right front tire. then 5 yards ahead i hit a telephone pole. my best friend doesn't want to go through his insurance because then his insurance will go up. its almost 10,000 dollars worth of damage. im only 17 and i don't have my license. im not sure how to pay for this, can anyone help me?|||youre screwed..... you broke the law, and whatever damage is on the car YOU should pay for its your responsibility to pay for it. you better get a job and fast.....cuz he COULD sue you/your parents for the money|||You're screwed. You stole a car and now have to pay for the damages. Even if your friend went through his insurance his insurance company would be coming after you AND your parents to pay for the damages. Time to start looking for a job and work your *** off. Oh and you can probably stop calling him your best friend, because I'm sure he's stopped calling you that by now.|||Bad move. but then again, it only happens to the other guy.

Tell your friend to get it repaired through his insurance, and if it goes up - you pay the difference.

That certainly will be less painful than coming up with 10 grand.|||It would be best to report it to the insurance company. His insurance would go up but it would be wayyyyy less than to have to pay 10,000 in damages.|||stop going to parties|||go back to burger king when they are open and get a job application|||A lot depends on what state your in. His rates may not even go up at all. You were the one driving so that accident would go on your record and not his.

But after his insurance company pays the claim, they may go after you to get their money back. You may be able to make payment arrangements with them. To save a friendship and a lot of problems, just let the insurance company take care of his damages. I hope he has collision coverage on his insurance to cover it. If not, you will have to pay.

Tell your friend to put in the claim.|||I can understand why your friend does not want to go through his insurance to fix the car. His premiums will go up, and not only that, but he may run the risk of not being able to get "road star" or the comprehensive road insurance if he pays for this accident.

If you don't have a licence, you had did not have any right to be behind the wheel of your friend's car. Number 1 it was not your car to begin with, and number 2, you could have hit that deer, or hit another car or pedestrians, and then you would have not been in a really good situation. If the police caught you, or attended, then you run the risk that you may not be able to get your licence until you are older.

As for the funds that you would have to pay for your friend's car. Either ask your parents to assist you with the cost of repairing your friend's car, or you will need to go through a credit agency, and see if they are able to assist you with a payment plan of how you would be able to pay back your friend for the damages to the car.|||He;s got you in quite a dilemma since you "stole" his car and then wrecked it. He is probably more than just a bit perturbed at you. But....Your best friend would rather pay $10,000.00 than perhaps pay an increase in rates ? That is plain crazy and makes no sense at all. Why not offer to pay his increase for him if he runs it through his insurance. That is to say I mean you should pay him the increase now, BEFORE they throw you in jail.|||You're screwed.

I mean it. See, if you can't pay the $10K, and you can't, he'll HAVE to go through his insurance. They'll pressure him to file theft charges against you. If he does, they'll still pay for the damages to his car, less his deductible, and you'll go to jail.

If he doesn't, they'll presume he gave you permission, and still cover the damages, but then they'll come after YOU to reimburse them, AND, they'll cancel his policy, for letting an unlicensed person drive.
