My car is parked on the street opposite my home, another car was passing by today scratched my car heavily,?

he came knocking on my door admitting he has scratched my car, he gave me his telephone number and car registration number and promised he will fix it tomorrow by taking it to nearest garage.

it is first incident ever, i was totally confused what to do, so i accepted it. i am waiting for his call tomorrow.|||And your question is????|||He did good, at least he admitted he was wrong.

If he doesn't ring by 3pm tomorrow, ring him instead.

鈾j|||Contact your insurance company?|||No, no, no, no, no. Call your insurance company. He has admitted liability and you should have no more contact with him. If he turns up tomorrow with the promise of sorting out your car are you going to give him the keys? What happens if he f**ks off with your car? Your insurance won't pay out. This sounds like a scam because you don't want your premiums to go up and it seems like a sensible option, but don't - let your insurance deal with it, after all that's what you pay your money for isn't it??

You are insured, aren't you??|||dont let him take it to garage, you'll never see your car again. Personally i would be suspicious as to why he doesnt want police or insurance involved, try calling local police station to see what they say|||First thing you need a witness to the accident.

If so you need the name %26amp; address to hold in case of problems.

Try the mobile number and ask for time of calling to test him %26amp; phone.

If any problems go to the police.|||I think you are fortunate that the guy came knocking on the door and accepted responsibility for this. You still need to contact your Insurance Company and you need to get details of his Insurance Company.

Also try to find out if any of your neighbours witnessed the incident as your Insurance Company would find witness statements helpful.

I think also, but I am not quite sure, that the onus is on the guy who hit your car to report it to the Police. Your Insurance Company will be able to advise you further on this.

I hope all goes well for you. I would hate this to happen to my car.|||I understand how you feel, and there is no need for answers like the above...

This person could be honest as he came to your door... But then it might be possible that he doesn't have insurance.

Either way when...or...If he comes back take down his insurance details....

Then what you do is go to a body repair shop and get an estimate...

Contact him and tell him how much it will cost.... If he pays you then that's fine.... If he does not, tell your insurance company and they will do the rest... It will not effect your insurance cost. If he has not got insurance...Then ring the police.

======================================鈥?br>

The doom and gloom thumber is around again.!|||this is to ask questions not tell us the story of your car getting scratched!|||So what is the question?|||What you need to do for your protection is to call the police NOW and get a report so that this person does not change their mind.....plus call your insurance company as well......
