My Car was stolen and my insurance company claims it is fraud and won't pay?

My policy was valid and the police report confirms the theft. I have provided many hours of testimony and paperwork related (presumably) to the claim, like telephone records, bank statements, repair receipts for recent repairs - why would I spend money on a car if I was going to have it stolen?? This has been going on for 3 months. I cannot afford a lawyer and am without a car.|||If the insurance company suspects fraud....there's a whole lot more to this story than you are posting. If the insurance company suspects fraud....there's a reason for that suspicion and I'm not touching this with a 10 foot pole.





You need to follow up with the adjuster handling your claim.|||Do you have a copy of the denial letter in writing? If not, you need that.





Then, you file a complaint, in writing, to your state insurance commissioner, and include a copy of the denial.





If they refuse to give you a written claim denial, you can file a complaint based on the fact that they're not paying, but they're also not denying the claim.





This won't cost you a dime, aside from the stamps.|||An insurer won't flat deny a claim without very good reasons; have you asked them WHY they've denied it? If you feell any of the reasons they give are false, that no win/no pay attorney may be your best bet, but be prepared for a grilling there, too.|||In the USA you can file a complaint with your State Insurance Comm.Office, they regulate and license insurance companies that do business in your state as well as investigate problems just like yours.|||Call the insurance arbitrators office.


They do this for free.


The insurance companies pay into this fund just for situations like this.|||Find one of the lawyers that doesn't collect unless they win your case. I think they typically only take 1/3 of the money they win in your case for their fee.|||They likely have enough evidence to prove that you stole/had the vehicle stolen.
